Introduction: LTE (Long Term Evolution) seems to be the
technology of choice for future mobile communication systems. All RBs
The most common deployment scenario is to reuse the
frequencies in all cells. This is good use of spectrum but has the
disadvantage that performance at cell edges is poor due to

Contents: This project is about investigating methods for

intercell interference control in LTE. There are methods aiming at avoiding interference and some
schemes use cooperative techniques to use interference constructively. Using computer simulation
the performance can be evaluated. This project requires a good understanding of mobile
communication networks and methods for doing computer simulation.

Prerequisites:

• 34330 Introduction to mobile communication

• 34354 Network modeling and simulation

Practical details: The project is intended for 1 student, 30-35 ECTS-points.
