Your Institution’s Instruction Program consists of four projects, namely: manpower training;
curriculum development; faculty development; and program accreditation. In addition to those
that you are currently undertaking, what other activities should be undertaken under each of the
project classifications mentioned above and why?

Manpower Training

Training and development ensure that educational staff possess the knowledge and skills
needed to perform their jobs effectively and adapt to ever changing technology. Aside from
formal teaching-learning processes, extracurricular activities, teaching methodologies and
strategies, production of audio-visual materials, teaching aids and technologies, grading or
marking systems, promotion and retention, graduation ceremonies, and board examination
reviews and performance of graduates. There are various ways or activities should a school to
undertake. One of those is the teacher exchange program. Teacher exchange program provides
opportunities for teaching professionals or even other school staff with a qualifying degree to
teach and train in partner accredited educational institutions abroad. Once they return to their
home countries, these teachers and staff may apply what they have learned to work in their own
classrooms and schools. Another activity for school to undertake is to involve in community
engagement and outreach program. When schools, families and community members are
involved in students learning, students improve their academic performance and gain advocates
that promote their success, helping them feel more confident at school and in taking on more
rigorous classwork. Outreach program aims to encourage the participation of students, parents,
teachers, school staff and alumnae in social development work and collaborate with community-
based organizations and institutions in their efforts to promote a just, loving, equitable, and
humane society.

Curriculum Development

Curriculum development involves identification of issue/problem/need, forming of curriculum

development team, conduct needs assessment and analysis, statement of intended outcomes,
selection of content, designing the experiential methods, producing the curriculum product,
testing and revising the curriculum, recruiting and training the facilitators, implementation of the
curriculum, designing the evaluation strategies, and reporting and securing resources.

In curriculum development each phase has several steps or tasks to complete in logical
sequence. These steps are not always separate and distinct but may overlap and occur
concurrently. For example, the curriculum development team is involved in all of the steps.
Evaluations should occur in most of the steps to assess progress. The team learns what works
and what does not and determines the impact pf the curriculum on learners after it is
implemented. Each step logically follows the previous. It would make no sense to design
learning activities before learner outcomes and content are described and identified. Similarly,
content cannot be determined before learner outcomes are described.

Faculty development
Effective faculty development program involves understanding the roles and expectations of
your faculty, develop respect and trust with your faculty as learners, review a wide perspective
for consistent new abilities that addresses all the aspects that impact faculty success in each
setting, connect the institutional/organizational culture with your faculty development culture,
conduct a needs assessment to establish relevant program outcomes, solicit timely and
effective feedback, design and implement a variety of programs to meet diverse needs, prepare
staff developers, implement reward structures for participation in faculty development programs,
and build a culture for learning based on collaboration, teamwork, and shared vision.

Program Accreditation

Some accrediting bodies style of program accreditation involves orientation on accreditation

visit, preliminary visit, level I formal visit, level II reaccreditation visit, level III reaccreditation visit,

Others starts with subscription, self-assessment and application, on-site assessment, committee
