TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

Students read the text and create three statements, two


are true and one is a lie. They read them and the class
has to find out.
It can be done in groups, pairs or individually.

TRUE OR FALSE

Show students some statements about the text they are


going to read. They need to look through the text to find
out if they are true or false.

SUMMARISE

Summarise the paragraph in a line (clue: use these key


words).
Option: create a sentence that states a difference between
the concepts.

KEY WORDS

Find these key words in the text and relate them to one of
these topics (five options), or find them and explain their
meaning in the sentence.

GAPS

Show the text students have in front of them with some


blank gaps. Ask them to read and find the missing
words.

ORDER PARAGRAPHS / SENTENCES

Students need to read the text to put the paragraphs or


sentences in order (they can be literal or paraphrased).

ONE QUESTION...
Each student / each group writes down a question about
the text: something they don’t understand / to ask the
rest of the class.

Choose the sentence you consider the most important in


the text. Discuss with the group and reach a consensus.
