PhD Fellowships for HEC Funded Project

Applications are invited for PhD positions in the Critical Infrastructure Protection and Malware Analysis
Lab at PIEAS, a partner lab of the National Center of Cyber Security, funded by the Higher Education
Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. Interested candidates can read the eligibility requirements for admission to
a PhD program in PIEAS on the website (http://admissions.pieas.edu.pk/index.html). Eligible candidates
with a valid GRE or GAT subject score and education and experience, as described below, are advised to
apply online at http://red.pieas.edu.pk/pieasadmission within 15(fifteen) days from the publication of this
advertisement. Those candidates who are appearing for the GAT test being held on November 15, 2020
may also apply. Candidates are required to email a pdf copy of the submitted PhD application at
recruitment.cipmalab@pieas.edu.pk. Only short-listed candidates will be called for the test/interview.

Education/Certifications
 Formal education of 18 years (MS or equivalent) in Systems/Electronics/Electrical/Computer
Engineering or Computer Science/Information Security or equivalent fields
 Cyber Security related courses during MS degree such as Computer Networks, Network Security,
Cryptography
 Selected candidates will be required to register in a PhD program in the Department of Electrical
Engineering or the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, PIEAS. Already registered
PhD students from PIEAS may also apply.
 Any experience/study in Industrial Automation and cybersecurity-related projects will be a plus
 Selected PhD candidates will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000/pm with an annual
increment of 10% for three years.
 Fee waiver can be offered to selected candidates against Teaching Assistance/ Lab Engineer
services.
