Hey, David of Game Dev Unlocked here!

I've curated a selection of useful game dev assets you can use for your own
projects, commerical or non-commerical. I chose the assets I did assuming you're
interested in making a game like The First Tree, namely a story-driven, dramatic
kind of experience. I tried to add variety too, so along with nature assets and
emotional music, you can also find action sounds, a low poly human character, and
icons for a mobile game.

---------- INSTALLATION ----------

All you have to do is create a new project in Unity, and unzip this GDU Asset Pack
folder into the Assets folder of the new Unity project. It may take a while to
import due to all the music and SFX, so pick and choose if you don't want to wait
too long.

Unity 2017.2 or higher is required for the models to show up properly! If you use
an older version, you may have to reconnect materials to the models.

If you're using another game engine like Unreal or GameMaker, go for it! It will
work but you may have to create and reconnect new materials. You can delete the
.meta files too, they're only for Unity.

---------- CREDITS ----------

For most assets they're free to use how you please (CC-0, AKA public domain).
However, there are some files like the music and The First Tree sounds that you
need to credit appropriately, so be sure to check the .txt file in their respective
folders.

Huge gigantic thanks to the artists who allow their work to be used so freely! My
games were only possible due to the kindness of artists like these, and that's why
I'm such an evangelist about utilizing the amazing free media the internet
provides. Below you'll find their names and websites, please check it out and
support them!
