1. How does God’s mercy move you to love Him more deeply and change the way you
treat others? Describe your experience when you have witnessed or have received an
extreme act of mercy. What struck you the most about this incident?
- God’s mercy is my foundation of serving other people. Because of God’s mercy, I
have the ability to become the person God has planned me to be. It drives me to show
the same to my fellow people. When I was in Grade 8, I had the opportunity of being
one of the participants in the Christmas gift-giving activity of IJA. In that activity, we
were able to feed and give happiness to the children of Adlas. I saw in their eyes and
faces pure happiness and the area was filled with laughter. It’s as if it was their first
time to experience something like that. I realized that even though they lack material
things, they can still smile genuinely because they know that they are blessed. They
appreciate even the simplest of things. That experience has taught me to become
selfless.

2. In this time of pandemic, how can you be God’s instrument in showing mercy to the
needy?
- In making a decision, think about its effect, not only to yourself but to everyone. Pray
for the safety of everyone. Be sensitive enough to know what is the right thing to do.
Do not do anything just because you want to or if it is for your own satisfaction only.
I may not be able to help others physically but I will be able to help them by sending
emotional support. I can talk to them virtually so that they will not feel alone. I could
also send bible quotes and verses so that I can help uplift their spiritual state and help
them feel the loving presence of God.
