Tech I opted
for Post Graduation in Environmental Engineering. While pursuing Masters, contamination of
Groundwater, and its risk potential in the state of Punjab was my thesis topic. My finding and
research were appreciated by the external as well as an internal examiner. In the present scenario,
there is a strong need for experts in this branch as a lot of work is to be done for sustaining the
environment. Further, our country is anticipating vast urbanization which will require tremendous
work to be done for potable water and disposal of sewage its treatment, reuse of treated water, and
Solid Waste Management. I also foresee a promising and prospecting career in this field. These are
the few factors urging me to pursue in this field.

IIT Jammu is a budding and premium institution that has a key role in providing and spreading higher
technical education in the strategic and holy region of Jammu in particular and in general in
Northern India. It will be my privilege to associate myself with the premium institution which will
impart my knowledge and expertise in my favorite field of Civil Engineering. I also foresee a
promising and prospecting career after completion of higher study at IIT Jammu, further, I was born
& raised at Jammu Town and got my preliminary education in this city, as such the emotional angle
also motivates me to pursue higher study here.

Starting from the beginning, I have maintained an excellent academic record till Post Graduation.
Apart from academics, I have interest in extracurricular activities like Music, Football and
Badminton. Completing Master's from the prestigious institution Punjab Engineering College goes in
my favour. I am a person with leadership skills and a great thirst for knowledge. I also have an
openness to new challanges and a commitment to work hard. I foresee Ph.D. as a position that will
allow me to expand and continue to accumulate knowledge, experience, and a promissing career.
