Summarize the following passage in about 50 words. Supply a suitable title for your
summary.

School education in our country does not equip a person with all the skills and knowledge he
requires in his lifetime. Nor does it develop sufficiently the right attitudes and proper value
that every individual requires performing various tasks throughout his life. Formal school
education is only a preparation for more education.
Every adult should therefore be given the chance to obtain further education. He or she
should not be prevented from doing so by a lack of financial support or entry qualifications.
Further education paves the way for a better future in society. Adult education provides the
learner with skills, knowledge and attitude that could help the individual to cope with
current social and economic changes.
The demands for further education in certain areas can be easily seen. They vary from basic
knowledge to professional training in fields such as public health, craft, trade, farming and
animal care. In addition, developing civic consciousness is an important part of adult
education. Other components are the development of social skills and remedial education.
The latter is intended mainly for those who have not attended school before or who left
school early.

The Importance of Further Education

Further education equips individuals with basic knowledge, professional training, social skills
and civic consciousness, all essential for coping with social and economic changes and for a
better society. Thus lack of financial support or entry requirements should not be a barrier,
