1 The Deepavali or Diwali

It is an ancient Hindu festival cel-

ebrated in autumn every year. It is one

of the biggest and brightest festival in

India. The festival connotes the victory

of light over darkness. Diwali festival

usually falls between mid-October and

mid-November.

2. The Rangoli

It is also known as Kolam or

Muggu. It is an Indian sacred folk art

wherein the patterns are created on

the floor, in living rooms, or courtyards.

Variety of colored rice, dry flour, color-

ed sand, or flower petals are used as

materials of this art.

13. The Kathak

It is known as one of the eight forms of Indian dance. This dance

originates to the nomadic bards of ancient northern India, known

as kathakars or storytellers. It is also somehow influenced by the

Persian and Central Asian dances which were imported by the royal

courts during the Mughal era.
