own production facility at Kotlakhpat industrial area approximate 125 workers at factory for
production DOCE have a wide range of products from milk to water, baked desserts, Special

when I was personally visit Doce I saw their sweet, bakery products and live pizza.Total 500
products are retail on DOCE. Now they have more than 50 branches in Lahore.

Doce competitors:

As DOCE is a bakery so, their competitor has also in same target market and same industry. For
the raw material there are several options for DOCE to purchase from different supplier because
the raw material Easley available in the local Pakistani market so bargaining power of vender
will be low,and price can be negotiable.  DOCE have many competitors which are selling almost
same products, some are direct competitors & some indirect competitors. Due to this competition
the result will be low prices and low profit margin. Employee trained and worked in well
established firm before joining the Doce.
 Competitors:

•Gourmet
•SHEZAN
•Cakes and bakes
•Butt sweets
•NIRALA sweets
DOCE provide greater customer values and satisfactions then its customer do. They also gain
batter advantage by positioning their offerings strongly against competitor offering in mind of
customer. DOCE works on their size and position batter to their competitor, to earn market
value. Its can domain their position that the competitively difficult for small industries.
Gourmet is the biggest competitor of DOCE. DOCE compete with Gourmet as in bakery item to
ensure that their customer is satisfied by their products. Gourmet has mostly their own item
that’s can easily competed by DOCE bakery item. In my survey I am noticed that most of the
people use to prefer DOCE more than Gourmet, because of their good strategy then their
competitor. It has better marketing plans and strategies then that of their competitor. Doce also
introduce live pizza to compete their competitor. Doce provide more customer satisfaction than
that of their competitor. DOCE sees how they would do, to maximize the production and
capacity in order to lower the price of its product and to compete in the bakery industry in better
and efficient way.

Market Opportunities:

Financially Doce have the strong background so there is no lack of resources for Doce.To
manage whole retail activities a branch manager is responsible for all the work related to that
particular branch. Doce is new brand in Lahore market the other brands have their own strong
brand image and loyal customer so it’s tough for Doce to make their loyal customers. Doce have
the most professional management team and all workers.

Macroeconomic Analysis
GDP:
Pakistan’s economy continued to grow in FY18, reaching 5.8 percent. Growth was driven by
higher consumption demand, fueled by accommodative fiscal and monetary policies; resulting in
widening macroeconomic imbalances. Current account deficit (CAD) reached 6.1 percent of
GDP in FY18, up from 4.1 percent in FY17. The widening CAD reflects the growing trade
deficit as exports struggled to catch up with steady acceleration in imports due to high domestic
demand. Fiscal deficit widened to 6.6 percent (excluding grants) in FY18, reversing fiscal
consolidation efforts in previous years. The main reasons for the fiscal slippage were a large
increase in recurrent spending together with low revenue growth (non-tax revenues).
Due to these difficulties it is difficult for the businesses to grow rapidly and earn profit. with the
growing taxes and high sales taxes businesses like dooce bakery are facing some enormous kind
of pressure.

Interest Rates:
The State Bank of Pakistan on March end increased the policy rate (interest) by 50 bps to 10.75
percent, which will be applied from April 1. Average headline Consumer Price Index
(CPI) inflation reached 6.5 percent in July-February of fiscal year 2018-19 compared to 3.8
percent recorded in the same period last year. Meanwhile, year on year CPI inflation has risen
considerably to 7.2 percent in January 2019 and further to 8.2 percent in February 2019-the
highest year on year increase in inflation since June 2014. These pressures on headline inflation
are explained by adjustments in the administered prices of electricity and gas, significant
increase in perishable food prices, and the continued unfolding impact of exchange
rate depreciation. Core inflation maintained its 13-month upward trajectory accelerating to 8.8
percent in February 2019 from 5.2 percent a year earlier. The fiscal deficit for the first half of
fiscal year 2018-19 was higher at 2.7 percent of GDP when compared with 2.3 percent for the
same period last year. The government has borrowed Rs 3.3 trillion from SBP and retired Rs 2.2
trillion of its borrowing from scheduled banks (on cash basis) during 1st July to 15th March of
fiscal year 2018-19.
With the increase in the interest rates ,it is nearly impossible for businesses like dooce to provide
the customer a healthy and sweet product with a meaningfull price.the effect of interest rates are
very bad on small businesses like dooce ,which are trying to build their business in the market.

Wheat
The major ingredient in dooce products is flour. "Misfortunes never come alone" is a well-
known proverb. As if problems of large twin deficits and growing indebtedness were not enough
for the country, the wheat output has also declined during FY19 to drag down the agriculture
sector, affecting adversely the growth rate of the economy. Speaking to a news conference in
Islamabad on 28th May, 2019, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research,
Sahibzada Muhammad Sultan revealed that Pakistan could not achieve the wheat production
target this year due to unfavourable weather conditions that damaged ripe and ready-to-harvest
crop, causing a loss of 1.5 million tonnes of wheat against the target of 25.5 million tonnes from
an area of 8.833 million hectares during Rabi season of 2018-19. However, as the country had a
leftover wheat stock of 3.7 million tonnes, the total availability of the grain would be 27.9
million tonnes as against the national requirement of 25.8 million tonnes.
Sahibzada Sultan blamed the previous government for slashing the budget for agriculture from
Rs 38 billion to Rs 16 billion and added that they "could not find kickbacks in this sector and for
that reason agriculture remained out of focus during their government". The PTI government led
by Imran Khan had a vision and maximum focus to revive agriculture sector for being the
backbone of the national economy. An agreement was signed with China entitled "Framework
Agreement on Agricultural Cooperation" by the present government which will cover all aspects
of agriculture sector and would share modern technology with Pakistan in addition to
mechanisation skills that will benefit small farmers.
