Introduction
Students will start in a talking circle -
Question: Where do talking/sharing circles come from?
2

Question: What is special about us being in a circle?

Discuss the talking stick – They used the talking stick to be able to identify the person
who was talking. We will pass around the talking stick and whoever has it is the only
one who is speaking. Others are listening. If they have nothing to share they can pass.
*** Make point of reminding them what a good listener does – we listen with our
ears and we make eye contact with the person who is talking. ***
