The ribs are located on the front side of the head in the area where the three 3/8 tapped holes for engine accessories lwere bolted to the head. I+** Factory 1968-9 D, 1970 F and 1971 H heads also had a horizontal wall cast in them that was located in the #3 or #6 exhaust port.
