ANALYTICAL HEIRARCHY METHOD

The Analytic Hierarchy Process is a powerful decision making tool we used on the basis of
different criteria. This process can be used for different engineering and economics problem. In
this process we assign different values according to our preference to different engineering
attributes in a hierarchical structure. In this method we require large number of comparable
engineering attributes to make a decision or choice. This method can easily help us for making
different decisions.
Now we will compare our ideas one by one with our preferred engineering attributes.
As we can see that consistency ratio is less than 0.1, this idea can be accepted from AHP
method.
As we can see that consistency ratio is less than 0.1, so we cannot use this idea for our project.
As we can see that consistency ratio is less than 0.1, so we cannot use this idea for our project.

We have compare our three initial design which include single lead screw mechanism, double
lead screw mechanism and jack screw mechanism on the basis of AHP. We have compare all
these three ideas with the same engineering attributes by assigning them different values
according to our psychology. Only one idea, single lead screw mechanism was consistent with
the given values, so we will use 1st idea for our project.
