Position the head by loosening the two tilt lock serews on turret and place head right angles to the table by lining up the degree witness merk on the overaim with zere degrees on tilt gouge ~ see Figure 7. SPINDLE SPEEDS Spindle speeds in R.P.M, ate listed on chart attached to fight side of column, Chart indicates the positions of the ‘motor ond spindle belts to obtain the speeds listed. To change spindle «peed, looten the motor bate lock knob, slide motor base forward to release spindle belt tension, then shift spindle bel to step desired, Loosen idler pulley knob and slide idler pulley back to release belt tension fond shift motor Belt to step desired. Reset idler pulley fo tighten motor belt — pulley lock knob, Slide motor base back to tighten the spindle belt — lock in place with motor base lock handle. ck in place with i MOUNTING CUTTERS Split holding collets with 4-16 thredds to bar ere recommended for helding end mil in the spindle. the etaw ‘and drill To mount holding collets or adapters with %”-16 threads in the spindle, frst insert the collet, then with draw ber wrench, turn draw bar into the colle. Insert cutter in collet and continue turning draw bar until cutter Is held securely To remove cutter, wite. ply turn draw bor counterclock: To remove collet, continue turning draw ber until releases the colle. Drils, cutters, end cutter adapters with tange are not recommended — they moy slip in spindle toper ond damage the toper.
