Unit 5: Animals! Lesson: Domestic animals

Aims:
-By the end of the lesson, the Ss will be better able to use a specific vocabulary about a certain
topic;
-The Ss will know wild animals and what they eat.
- Use present simple and present continuous in different contexts.

Warm up. (5 min)


-T greets the Ss, checks homework, reviews the vocabulary of the previous lesson.

Activity 1. (10-15 mi)


- Word web. Ss help T create a word web on the black board containing animals. Ss write
the word web in their notebooks
- CES students can draw their favourite animals in the notebook.

Acrivity 2. (15 min)


- ex 2 / page 48. The Ss have 3 minutes to read the text in silence and then with the help of
the T try to translate it.
- After translating it T asks Ss to underline all present continuous verbs and to explain
what they mean.
- CES students can try and describe the photos
Activity 3: (5 min)
- ex 3 / page 49. S exercise the use of present continuous .
Activiti 4:
- Game: each S says an animal and the next S sais a new animal, plus the previous animal,
and so on.
- After this T changes the topic from animals to food that animals eat. So each S starts with
“The lion is eating...” as to use present continuous.
