For production of sports garments like gloves, tracking trousers and shirts, which process
strategy do you recommend? Justify your answer briefly.
I would recommend mass customization strategy for production of sports garments like gloves,
tracking trousers and shirts etc.
The justification for my recommendation is as follows:
Industries or firms that has to pursue their sport garments(sportswear) business sustainability in
the tough competitive environment should employ mass customization strategy to gain the wide
market share and differentiation in their products by offering a large variety of various kinds of
individualized products to their clients and should devise their production strategies in such a
way that they are able to produce high variety, large volume and also customized products by
still managing their costs and become a reputed brand that demand of customers to buy their
products rises as mass customization allows a higher customer retention since products have
options and are tailored to personal tastes.
Gloves, tracking trousers and shirts have different styles, fabric material, colors range, size
measurements and different heat pressed logos, texts and images on sport garments. For
different sports usually different sportsmen wear different types of trousers and shirts and also
gloves of different types according to need of the sport and comfort level of the sportsman. If any
sportswear industry or firm wants to excel in competition from other sportswear industries then it
must employ the mass customization strategy for production of sports garments as it allows the
firm to sustain wide market share and high profitability in its business by offering customized
individual products to customers keeping in view their needs, desires and levels of comfort.
