This week, I started working on a new project. UNIMUST, which is a consultancy
organization for students who want to go abroad for their undergrad/postgrad. As a pilot
project, we are sending students to Russia. Since our mother company is in the human
capital busines for the past 32 years, they now want to target the students as well. But
unlike some other companies, we will not be charging the students anything for the
consultancy. The consultancy service will be completely free of cost. This, I believe will be a
huge POD for us as no other organization in this industry is providing this service for free.

I posted the information on Facebook and immediately saw the result. A large number of
students signed up to go to Russia for their post graduate studies. And a lot more for
undergraduate as well. So, this project is really looking good for now. We hope to include
universities from all over the world in our roster very soon.

I got into a fight with the runner this week. The more I try to teach him efficient ways of
communication, the more he refuses to learn. Every time he needs something, he will make
me go downstairs and then spend an hour gossiping before getting to the actual point.
Whenever I try to teach him easier and faster way of doing things, he refuses to learn at all.
So, this week, I stopped doing all his required work. When he came to confront me, I asked
him to learn the process or not get work done, and if he has a problem with this, he can
take it up to HR. Though I hate this approach, it worked and he is now trying to figure out a
way he can get the work done. Perhaps this will have a negative impact on our work
relationship but I am glad that I could help him learn something.

Something I really admire about this office is that there is no discrimination towards
anyone. Everybody is shown the same respect be it a peon or a GM. I also admire our CEO
and MD very much. This is mainly because they are doers. Every single day, they have their
own jobs to do, but they ALWAYS make themselves available to help the team out in any
way they can. Whether I need some extra budget to try something new, or an extra pair of
eyes to look over the copy for a landing page, moral support in a meeting, or even just an
ear to bounce ideas off of, both of them make a point of reminding me that they are always
available to help me to do my job better. Also, they understand that people go through bad
times. Personally, I’ve been through periods of unease and I cannot explain what a
magnificent support they have been – from directing me in the path of appropriate support,
to being there to talk, to giving me time off to recharge and recuperate when needed -- no
questions asked.

This week has been very hectic as I had to talk to a lot of students both virtually and
physically. I had to visit some students to their preferred location and explain to them how
the whole process works. Additionally, I have been working on the Maslow website, which
is turning out to be great. The infotech team has been outstandingly supportive and helped
me to create a stunning website so that I can attract the customers. Now all I have to do is
prepare some courses that I can offer and create a revenue stream.

As usual, the people in the company know how to take weird pictures of me and post them
online. The coordinator to the MD took this picture as we were sleeping on her desk at
lunch hour because we had to work late the previous night.

So as a revenge, I took this photo of hers.
