To Whom It May Concern:

____________ has accomplished great things here at our high school and has my highest
recommendation to your college. I have had the pleasure of witnessing _______ develop into an
effective student leader with astronomical dreams.

_______ has demonstrated that he can be a successful leader in two different extracurricular
activities: orchestra and Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC). In his four
years in orchestra, he was first violin second chair for two years, second violin section leader for
one year, and concertmaster for another year. As section leader, he led by example by
demonstrating the musical piece and motivated his peers to practice to perfect their craft. He
created an environment for his peers that welcomed mistakes, in which they can learn from.

For NJROTC, _______earned the position of Battalion Command Senior Chief, which is the
highest position possible for an enlisted cadet in a unit with company strength. As the leader of
NJROTC, he mentored the younger cadets and led his peers in drill routines. With his dedication,
drive, and discipline as the leader, he was able to lead his group to the NJROTC Drill Nationals
Qualifier in 2020.

On top of these extracurricular activities, _______is also involved in clubs, such as Key Club
and Red Cross, and sports, such as swim, cross country, and volleyball. Despite having so much
on his plate, he knows how to manage his time wisely to balance out these activities with his
academics. He has excelled academically and passed multiple AP courses and received multiple
Principal Honor Roll awards. He has also received the Freshman Honor Cadet in 2018, which is
an award that the NJROTC gives to the cadet with the highest GPA out of every cadet in their
class.

Being able to travel and compete against schools from other parts of the country for NJROTC
competitions has confirmed his enjoyment of being exposed to different experiences. Growing
up, _______has always been interested in outer space and dreamed of becoming an astronaut. In
high school, he has developed an academic interest in math and science, particularly physics. He
wants to major in aerospace engineering, so that he can learn the physics behind how aircrafts
and spaceships operate and wants to contribute to their construction. His long-term goal is to
contribute to outer space discoveries.

_______is a resilient student who knows how to challenge himself mentally and physically. He
has my highest recommendation for admission to your institution.
