Dear School Administrator,

I would like to thank you for considering my request to be a teacher in your school
district. My name is Abbie Strasser and I am from Lennox, South Dakota. I began my
undergraduate work in August 2017 at Dakota State University, and will graduate in May 2021
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and K-12 Special Education with minors in
Pre-K-12 Reading, K-12 Technology, English as a New Language, as well as a Kindergarten
Endorsement. As a student at Dakota State University, I have been provided many opportunities
to work with passionate and hardworking professors while having multiple experiences in the
classroom to understand and gain experience working with students
My future classroom will be one that welcomes everyone. I want my classroom to be
open to all cultures, beliefs, and ideas. I want every person who walks in my room to feel
comfortable and safe, so that they can be themselves. I believe as a teacher I must motivate,
inspire, and encourage my students to strive for success. As an educator, it is my responsibility
to get to know my students and develop rapport so I can understand how they learn best and
build upon that relationship. I believe the purpose of education is to help students prepare for the
real world by helping them become independent citizens and by providing them with knowledge
needed for future careers. I will strive to gain the trust of all my students so they will be ready to
learn.
As my time at Dakota State University comes to an end, I am more than excited to take
this next big step in my future. I appreciate you taking the time to read this letter and for
