This study’s objective is to show the preferred source of information of Malabon National High School –

Science, Engineering, and Technology (MNHS-STE) students between their use of books and internet.
The study attempts to determine the factors affecting the use of books and internet in today’s time, and to
show the effects of the current improvement and renovation of MNHS library.
The foreign and local literatures and studies used shows that the use of internet and books as a source of
information had both good and bad effects in their academic works depending on the circumstances
given.
Three articles from local indicate the usage of Filipino on the Internet wherein 40% of Philippine public
high schools have computers with access on the Internet, however, 4% of these schools provide students
the proper facilities, training, and access to school computers.
In the study of Kumah (2015), the study assumed that graduate students use the internet more than the
library, parallel to this study, the researchers expected a higher rate in the usage of internet due to the
decreasing worth of books and easy-to-access internet sources. It was also stated that the data was
collected using questionnaires and assessed through SPSS.
