■ て Form + も
This form is used to express a hypothetical state or scenario.
Sometimes the word たとえ accompanies the beginning of the sentence.
It can be translated as ‘even though / if’ etc.

びょうき あした しごと
❶ 病 気 でも、明日 仕 事 に行かないといけない。
　 Even if I'm sick, I have to go to work tomorrow.
す しけん う むずか
❷ 日本で１年住んでも、その日本語の試験に受かるのは難しいだろう。
　 It'll be hard to pass the Japanese exam, even if I live in Japan for a year.
わす だいじょうぶ
❸ 忘れても、大丈夫だよ。
　 Even if you forget it, it won’t a problem.
やちん はら たびたび はたら
❹ 学生でも、家賃を払うために 度 々 働 かなくてはいけない。
　 Even if you're a student, sometimes you have to work to pay the rent.
きれい つ あ
❺ たとえ綺麗でも、その女の子と付き合いたくない。
　 I don't want to go out with that girl, even if she's beautiful.
あね ほ なん
❻ 姉は高くても欲しいものは何でも買う。
　 My older sister buys everything she wants, even if it's expensive.

■ のに
This expression has two different meanings.
① This is used to express contrast and the cause of an unexpected result.
It also expresses the speaker's negative feelings such as frustration, disappointment, regret, dissatisfaction etc.
It can be translated as ‘in spite of’ or ‘although’ in English. You can interchange it with けど or が (but).
② This is used to express to objectives and goals. It can be translated as ‘to do’ or ‘for the purpose of’ in English. It
is a synonym for ために . Compared to ために , のに is used less frequency and only with verbs.
つか ひつよう ふかけつ
In most cases, ‘使う (to use)’, ‘必 要だ (necessary)’ or ‘不可欠だ (indispensable)’ follows のに .

　 Although that girl is pretty, she doesn't have a boyfriend.

❹ 毎日 勉 強 しているのに、なかなか漢字が覚えられない。
　 Although I study every day, I have difficulty memorizing kanji.

❺ 姉はお金がないのに、いつも買い物しています。
　 Although my sister has no money, she always goes shopping.

❻ 印 刷 するのにプリンターが 必 要 です。
　 We need a printer to print it.

　 This cable is used to connect the computer to the TV.
