WHAT'S NEW? With many of us staying close to home this winter, the library introduces Winter Activity Challenges to encourage all of us to read, be creative and get outside this season. Starting January 11, you can find Winter Challenge sheets for preschoolers, elementary students, teens and adults at the library. You'll also find a link to print the activities on our website: minoalibrary.org. There are 24 challenges on each page, and March 1, 2021 is the deadline to finish them. Then bring the Winter Challenge sheet to the library and pick out a small prize. Can you complete the challenges? DID YOU KNOW?
Looking for a movie to watch on a cold
winter night? Hoopla is the library's free , easy-to-use digital streaming service. You can instantly download movies, television shows, music, audiobooks, ebooks and even comics. All you need to sign up is your library card number and PIN. There's a link to Hoopla at minoalibrary.org, and there's also a Hoopla app. If you need help with your PIN or have any questions, just ask!
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Jean Houseman has
worked at Minoa Library since 2004 when the library was on Willard Street. Jean recalls there was only one checkout station at that time and two public computers that rarely got used. Something interesting happens nearly every day at the library, but Jean says the most memorable event was working on "Overdue," a satirical video series created by former employee Fran Swick. You can find the series (and see Jean) on Youtube. When she's not reading or spending time with her husband, four children and five grandchildren, Jean loves to knit, crochet and do other crafts. Thank you Jean for all you do at Minoa Library!
