 Why is this article important for you and your classmates to know?
This article is important because three new species of dragons have been
found in the Andean forest in Ecuador and Peru. They are wood lizards and
are known as “miniature dragons” because of the resemblance to the
mythical dragons in stories. These wood lizards are 3 to 6 inches in length.
The three species that were found are the Enyalioides altotambo, named
after the town of Alto Tambo, the Enyalioides sophiarothschildae, named
after a donor to BIOPAT which is a German nonprofit organization that
funds conservation research. The final species is the Enyalioides anisolepis,
anisolepis meaning “unequal scales” in Greek.
 In what way does this current event impact us locally, nationally, or the
entire world?
This article impacts us globally because three new species have been found.
It impacts us because this can lead to finding new species of this type of
“dragon” and this might help us find other organisms and animals that it
may eat or be related to.
 What is one interesting thing you learned from reading this article?
It’s interesting that scientists are still finding new species of animals.
