Sir/Madam, 1 am directed to send herewith a copy of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Legislative Department, Notification No. H-11019(3)/2014-Leg.HH dated 28" February, 2014, amending Rule 90 of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961 thereby increasing the upper limit of election expenses applicable to candidates at elections to Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies. This may be brought to the notice of all District Election Officers, Returning Officers and other election authorities concerned and also the State Units of recognized political parties and all registered unrecognized political parties based in your State/ Union Territory for their information. (E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 77 read with section 169 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Central Government, after consulting the Election Commission, hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, namely: 1. (1) These rules may be called the Conduct of Elections (Amendment) Rules, 2014.
