Berthold Pentrameter
The Berthold Pentrameter is designed to indicate flux direction and
sensitivity. The central piece is cut into quadrants to provide
indications at 0 and 90 degrees. This piece is capped with a thin non-
magnetic foil that is mounted in an adjustable spacer, allowing the
test surface to be raised as a means of judging sensitivity.
The Berthold Gauge has only gained popularity in the EU, while the Pie Gauge (W-PG) is
by far the most popular aid for determining Field Direction.
