1. CCNS4 CERTIFICATION
The CCNS4 is a "carry on system". It is not an integral part of the aircraft and thus has not to
be certified.
It is the responsibility of the CCNS4 customer/operator and pilot to find out if a certification
for the CCNS4 system (at the CAA, FAA, etc.) is required in their country. If so, this has to
be done by the customer.
It is the pilot’s decision, whether to use the guidance information computed and displayed by
the CCNS4 system for navigation or not, as done with other non-certified flight navigation
aids.
Please Note, that the CCNS4 has to be included in your weight and balance computations
(refer to the Supplemental, paragraph TECHNICAL DATA) and that your payload will
decrease accordingly. If you decide to fix the CCNS4 system permanently to the aircraft, it
will be necessary to obtain a new weight and balance sheet. Do not exceed the maximum
takeoff weight of your aircraft.

3. MAKING INPUTS
Several menu pages of the CCNS4 system let you enter information. Each input will affect the
currently displayed page only. Some pages are only for displaying information and do not
provide the possibility to make data input.
The screen of the Display Unit(s) is vertically divided into two parts. The larger part on the
left side shows guidance information (opening with the CCNS4 logo), the smaller part on the
right side are system management tasks (pages).
The SEL/ENT knob is used in the SELECT MODE to move the desired project, area or line
into the select frame. Once the desired item has been placed correctly, it can be activated by
pressing the SEL/ENT button.
Other pages, e.g. SETUP PARAMETERS, require alphanumerical inputs. These pages
feature several items and it is necessary to select one specific item, before any changes will be
possible.
This can only be done by using the SEL/ENT knob and the SEL/ENT button.
During a flight, the SEL/ENT Button has yet another function. Pressing SEL/ENT in the
SHORT INFO MODE will pause the camera. EXPSTOP will appear in the upper right corner
of the display and no more photos will be taken until SEL/ENT is hit again.
A thin line will mark a cursor that can be moved by turning the SEL/ENT knob up and down,
on the pages that feature the possibility for inputs.
When the cursor has been placed under the desired item, the SEL/ENT button has to be
pressed. The thin cursor line will turn to a thick one.
The possibility of moving the cursor is now disengaged and turning the SEL/ENT knob will
change the value or setting of the chosen item.
Any new status or value will have to be confirmed by pressing the SEL/ENT button after
resetting an item.
The cursor will then change back to a thin select line and other items can be selected with the
SEL/ENT knob.
This is the general function of the SEL/ENT combination (refer to the description on the
specific pages for more detail or deviations from this rule).
The initial mode is the SELECT mode, the first page is the SELECT PROJECT. It is possible
to change MODES and/or PAGES at any time e.g. to enter the SETUP mode in order to
make necessary inputs before flight.
4. SELECT MODE
To access guidance information, it will be necessary to select the first flight line that has to be
flown. The necessary projects, areas and flight lines must have been defined during mission
planning (refer to IGI's WinMP manual).
The CCNS4 airborne computer is able to handle per CCNS4 Mission Card (PCMCIA
Standard, Type I/II) as many as:
● 100 projects.
● 25 areas/project.
● 100 (999 as a WinMP option) flight lines/area.
● up to 998 photo points (waypoints)/flight line.
The middle frame shows how many exposure data sets are free
on the CCNS4 Mission Card.
The SELECT AREA page will appear after the selected project
has been confirmed by pressing the SEL/ENT button.
Turn the SEL/ENT knob until the desired area is inside the
select frame.
The SELECT LINE page will appear after the area has been
confirmed by pressing the SEL/ENT button.
Turn the SEL/ENT knob until the desired flight line with the
relevant sign is placed in the select frame and press SEL/ENT
to confirm the selection.
The CCNS4 airborne computer will read all needed information from the Mission Card into
its memory and will compute and display guidance information graphically on the left 2/3rds
of the screen.
The Mission Card contains the planned projects with areas, lines
and waypoints as they come from the WinMP mission planning
software.
It also contains the data that were collected during the flight.
After the flight the Mission Card should be removed to save the
collected data. All log files will be stored in the subdirectory
'Mission.log'.
For information on the files created stored on the Mission Card,
please refer to ch. 10, LOG FILES.
5. SETUP MODE
The SETUP MODE allows the pilot to calculate specific items that are useful for aerial survey
flight operations, e.g. for turn information when switching from one line to the next.
The SETUP MODE additionally features fundamental settings necessary for the setup of
parameters, testing of the CCNS4 including the associated camera system(s) on the ground
and the System Configuration.
The first page of the SETUP MODE is the calculation page, where several parameters can be
computed.
This page is split into two fields. The first one is the input area. Here you have to enter the
values that are needed to calculate those in the second field.
PALT, QNH and OAT have to be entered in order to be able to calculate true altitude. True
altitude will be displayed in the lower part of the window at the position TALT.
IAS, HDG, PALT, QNH and OAT are needed for calculating Bank Angle, XTD, TAS, WD
and WS. Note, that for calculating XTD, the bank angle is required or vice versa, depending
on what the calculation mode was set to.
! Note: It will become necessary to manoeuvre the aircraft to a position that will give the
correct XTD, before initiating the turn.
! Note: If the spacing between the actual flown flight track and the desired flight line is
not to close it is also possible to calculate the needed bank angle. Therefor CALC
must be set to BANK. By confirming the IAS, the actual XTD will be used to
calculate the needed bank angle.
The first line indicates if an AEROcontrol system (AECTRL) or an external GPS receiver
(Z_XTR / Z-FLY) has been interfaced to the CCNS4 or not, as specified on SYS CONFIG
#3 Page (ch. 5.4.3).
! Note: N/A (not available) is the indication that the CCNS4 is not connected to an
AEROcontrol or any external receiver.
! Note: Only one marker point, the one that lies in front of
the first waypoint/photo, will be seen, if the distance
between the marker and the waypoint/photo should
be larger than the waypoint/photo baseline (distance
between photos). All other ones will be invisible,
because the photos will overlap them. To learn
more, see ch. 12.8Fehler: Referenz nicht gefunden
MARKERDIST VS. BASELENGTH.
Here you can enter the most vital parameters necessary for sensor system control.
Note: The CCNS4 is able to run up to two sensor systems of different make and model.
To operate one digital camera in parallel with an analogue camera one is possible,
too. The CCNS4 will notice which kind of camera is connected and give the
appropriate commands for its use. Both cameras (in the case of two being
connected) have to be treated as separate systems and all inputs have to be made
for each camera system separately (except the ADD EXPO, see below). Which
settings are available on this page, depends on the type of the sensor connected.
5.3.1.1 DIGICAM
If a DigiCAM is connected directly to the CCNS4 the camera will automatically be identified
by the CCNS4. The CCNS4 is not only able to trigger the camera and handle the feedback
signal. The CCNS4 provides much more features to handle the camera comfortably and
easily. The CCNS4 provides the possibIility to read out important status information from the
camera.
Possible selections:
5.3.1.2 DMC
If a DMC camera is connected to the CCNS4 via the Digital Camera Interface (DCI), the
camera will be automatically identified by the CCNS4. The CCNS4 is not only able to trigger
the camera and handle the feedback signal. The CCNS4 provides much more features to
handle the camera comfortably and easily. The CCNS4 provides the possibility to read out
important status information from the camera. E.g. whether the camera is ready to take images
or if the self test has no success.
It is also possible to set the camera to different Exposure Modes, to correct the light values
with correction factors or to set the light values manually.
Possible selections:
5.3.1.3 ULTRACAM
If an UltraCam is connected to the CCNS4 via the Digital Camera Interface (DCI), the camera
will be automatically identified by the CCNS4. The CCNS4 is not only able to trigger the
camera and handle the feedback signal. The CCNS4 provides much more features to handle
the camera comfortably and easily. The CCNS4 provides the possibility to read out important
status information from the camera and give information to the camera (e.g. ground speed,
hight above ground and project data).
Possible selections:
5.3.1.4 DIMAC
If a DIMAC is connected to the CCNS4 via the Digital Camera Interface (DCI), the camera
will be automatically identified by the CCNS4. The CCNS4 is not only able to trigger the
camera and handle the feedback signal. The CCNS4 provides much more features to handle
the camera comfortable and easy. The CCNS4 provides information to the camera (e.g.
ground speed, hight above ground and project data).
Possible selections:
The 3-DAS-1 system is connected directly to the CCNS4 via the CAM1 port only.
The ThermaCam (from CCNS4 side called THERMCAM or TCAM) system has to be
connected to the CCNS4 via the CAM1 port only.
The ThermaCam must be selected in the SYS CONFIG #2, SENS TYPE: TCAM.
Possible selections:
This page will only become accessible when a sensor system is connected to the CAM2 plug
on the CCNS4 rear side.
All main functions will be the same as in SET SENSOR #1. All sensor settings can be entered
and handled separately for CAM #2.
● ONLINE START/STOP
● EXPO ADD
These settings are interconnected for SENSOR #1 and SENSOR #2. Only the last entered
value will be accepted and displayed, regardless if this value has been entered in SET
SENSOR #1/#2 or SET SYSTEM.
! Note: Single camera operations should always be achieved with CAM 1 plug on the
CCNS4 rear side.
! Note: When operating a dual camera system set up and using the CCNS4 for guidance
only, do not forget to set the second camera system to the required settings as
well.
! Note: It is not yet possible to flight plan for two different focal lengths to be used in one
mission. It is therefore necessary to do the flight planning for the camera system
with the longer focal length (e.g. one camera with 150 mm and the other with 300
mm, flight plan in 300 mm). The camera system with the shorter focal length has
to be set to ODD or EVEN in the EXPO WPT in SET CAMERA, so that it will
take every second picture only. It is very important to distinguish between the two
different cameras.
MOUNT TYPE
The following mount types are supported:

The correct input of the aircraft's deviation table can
be checked here. The first value is the compass
indication and the second the "to steer" value.
! Note: It is only possible to store one deviation table per
mission card. It will therefore be necessary to have
one mission card per aircraft, or it will be necessary
to update the mission card with the correct deviation
card, whenever aircrafts have been changed (refer to
the WinMP Manual ch. 8).
STOP Select YES with the SEL/ENT knob and press the
NAV SEL/ENT button. The CCNS4 logo will appear and
the SELECT PROJECT page will become available.
! Note: Do not exit the NAV mode until your mission has
been completed, The CCNS4 will stop to manage
the sensor(s) and will close all log files.
The SYSTEM CONFIGURATION allows to change the default values for the whole system,
meaning for example: whether an english or metric system is used, the data format of the
interconnected Directional Gyro (DG), and so forth.

6. INFO MODE
The INFO MODE provides information for the pilot and the camera operator/navigator.
The SHORT INFO and the NAV INFO pages may be used by the pilot and operator.
The DCI INFO page appears, if DCI INFO was enabled on the SYS CFG page #2. It displays
information which comes from the DIGITAL CAMERA INTERFACE (DCI).
The Camera INFO page is especially useful for the camera operator.
The GPS INFO page provides information on the actual status of the GPS system that is in
operation with the CCNS4.
It will be replaced by the AEROcontrol INFO pages, if an AEROcontrol has been connected.
The “SHORT INFO” page gives a brief summary of the most important data displayed in big
letters on all info pages.
! Note: The CCNS4 is able to run up to two camera systems, of different make and
model. Operating IGI´s camera cables, the CCNS4 will notice which kind of
camera system is connected and will give the appropriate commands for its use.
Both cameras (in the case of two being connected) have to be treated as separate
systems and all inputs have to be made for each camera system separately (except

SEL/ENT the mode change to single page mode. The actual page will stay and a further push
of the SEL/ENT knob call the next page
7. GUIDANCE INFORMATION
All functions of the CCNS4 system can be accessed with the knobs and buttons on each
Command and Display Unit. The standard Display Unit is the "Command & Display Unit"
(CDU), which has a 5-inch TFT display. 9” diagonal is optionally available. It is possible to
operate two Display Units in parallel, e.g. one unit for the pilot and the other one for the
sensor operator.
The display screen is divided in two parts. The left 2/3rds of the display is for guidance
information and the right 1/3rd of the display is for management functions.
The left part of the display offers the graphic flight information. An aircraft symbol can be
seen in the lower central part. The display is an "on top view". The dashed line in front of the
aircraft symbol indicates the current flight direction (true course).
The solid line represents the planned line which has to be flown. The pilot has to bring the
dashed line on top of the solid line, in order to track the planned terrestrial line. The principle
is 'follow the line', similar to a standard VOR´s CDI deflection presentation.
There are three possible symbols on the planned flight lines (also refer to the Supplemental,
BASELENGTH vs. MARKERDIST):
A small square represents the photo after the next (up to 5), refer to ch.
5.8.2, paragraph SYSTEM SETUP, DWPT in the SYS CFG MENU.
1 - 10 meters in meters
11 - 95 meters in 5-meter increments
The TRUE TRACK in degrees (here 360°) sits on top of the dashed line
(below the DG information).
A sliding scale similar to the altitude scale can be seen on the left side of
the display. This scale has the fixed dimension of 2 nm. The left triangle
on the bottom end of the scale indicates the position at which the camera
will be fired by the CCNS4. The moving triangle on the right indicates the
approaching photo point (waypoint). The triangle will start to move down
the scale, whenever a photo point is within 2 nm (in front) of the airplane.
The camera will be fired at the moment when both triangles touch each
other.
! Note: The moving triangle will not start at the top of the scale, but at the corresponding
distance, if the base length between photos is less than 2 nm. An arrow will
appear at the top end of the scale, if the distance to the next photo is larger than 2
nm.
The axis perpendicular to the aircraft symbol represents the area that can
be monitored by the system to the left and right of the plane. This area can
be zoomed from COARSE, MEDIUM to FINE in nautical miles or
kilometers (refer to ch. 5.8.1, paragraph ZOOM), by pushing the ZOOM
IN or OUT knobs.
here are two 'blocks' to the left and right of the aircraft symbol. These
blocks define the gap-limit. The pilot has to keep the line that has to be
flown (the a/c), between these two blocks, otherwise no photos are taken.
! Note: If AUTOMATIC has been set on the SET SYSTEM page, the GAP value for the
Gap-Limit entered during the mission planning with WinMP will be used.
The CAMERA symbol appears in the upper right corner of the guidance
display, once the aircraft is within the planned Gap-Limit, and the time to
the next photo has reached the online start range.
A TO/FROM flag can be seen in front of, or behind the aircraft, depending
on the location of the waypoint.
! Note: In order to take photos, the TO/FROM flag must be in the TO position. The
aircraft will have to be turned and a new approach will become necessary, if the
flag should indicate a FROM. If the shot is to be skipped at this time, a new photo
can be selected by pressing SEL/ENT and turning the SEL/ENT button. The
selected position then has to be confirmed by pressing SEL/ENT again. The
display will now bring you to the next photo. This feature will only be available
on the SHORT INFO page.
The remaining numeric indicators on the two lower lines of the CCNS4
guidance info, display the following information:
MKR
Magnetic bearing and distance to the marker point in degrees/nm. This
helps to find the beginning of the line.
DIS
Distance to the next waypoint (photo) in nm..
XTD
Cross track deviation in nautical miles (nm) or kilometers (km) (here: 0.00
nm).The arrow to the left or the right of the XTD indicates the direction in
which the pilot has to steer for an optimal 180 degrees turn.
ALTITUDE
depending on the SETUP (SET SYSTEM page of the SETUP MODE)
(here 6620 ft):
Spezial sensors like digital cameras or line scanner needs an optimized ground speed to get
best quality of the scanned data. Therefore an optional scale for optimized speed is selectable
on the SET SYSTEM page instead of the default distance scale.
!NOTE: Detailed information of the availiable options are described in the SET SYSTEM
chapter.
The sliding triangle on the right scale indicates the CURRENT GROUND SPEED. The thin
frame and the opposite triangle indicates the RATED GROUND SPEED in knots.
The triangle on the planned line shows the start of the sensor leg and the TRG icon in the
upper top of the NAV screen indicates a sensor who is set to RLS MODE TRIGGER.
ALTITUDE HOLD
will appear when the GPS receiver operates in the 2D-Mode (only three
satellites are available) and no input of a pressure altitude sensor is
available.
DEAD RECKONING
will appear 3 seconds after a positioning information failure of the GPS
sensor. The next photos on the flight line may be taken, if the aircraft is
kept straight and level.
! Note: The CCNS4 guidance info will only be based on DG information and the last
computed ground speed when being operated under DR conditions.
NAV OFF
will appear if not enough navigation information is being received by the
GPS receiver and AEROcontrol, resp. (also 15 seconds after the Dead
Reckoning symbol appeared).
DGPS
appears, when the GPS receiver is being operated under Differential GPS
conditions (also refer to the Supplemental, paragraph DGPS WITH THE
INTERNAL GPS receiver).
SUN ANGLE
Actual angle of the sun. This feature has to be enabled on SYSCFG #1
page (ch. 5.8.1).
ON LINE
will be lit when being within the ONLINE distance of a line.
CYC WARN
Camera cycle warning will be lit when the time available between the just
taken photo and the next photo position is less than the time chosen on the
SET SENSOR page (ch. 5.3), which means that there is not enough time
for the camera to get ready for the next exposure.
EXP 99
will light up when the storage capacity left on the CCNS4 mission card is
less than 100 exposures and will count down the number remaining.
NO SAVE
If there is a fault on writing data to the CCNS4 mission card, this icon is
displayed.
RECORDING TIME
If the recording time of the AEROcontrol drops below 30 minutes, the
remaining minutes are displayed.
CAMERA #1
will be fired at the next photo point
CAMERA #2
will be fired at the next photo point
IDLE
cameras are on "stand by". This can happen, when a waypoint is reached
which does not require an exposure, such as every second waypoint when
flying a mission with ODD or EVEN only.
TRIGGER MODE
When RLS MODE on the SET SENSOR page has been set to TRIG
(ch. 5.3.2), the CCNS4 will display on the NAV screen only triangles for
the start and the end waypoint of the selected line or each line segment if
the line is splitted.
If the sensor is of type LMK1000/2000 or RMK TOP the CCNS stop also
at the end of the line the camera exposure sequence automatically.
EXPO STOP
appears, when the EXPOSURE STOP MODE has been engaged, when the
SEL/ENT button has been pressed in the SHORT INFO mode.
STAB OFF
Indicates, that the automatic mount stabilization has been disabled.
FAILURE
Failure message from the camera, depending of the camera type. Please
refer to the manual of the camera.
WARNING
Warning message from the camera, depending of the camera type. Please
refer to the manual of the camera.
UNDREXP
Indicates, that the last taken picture has been underexposed.
OVEREXP
Indicates, that the last taken picture has been overexposed.
NO PFM
Indicates that the DMC is not in the PHOTO FLIGHT MODE.
EVT ERROR
Indicates missing event messages while an AEROcontrol is installed.
Please check the cabling of the AEROcontrol. Is the event cable connected
to the event port according to the camera?
ALL/REMAINING WAYPOINTS
After finishing of a line, in the upper right corner of the screen appears an
indicator which shows, if all the planned photos have been taken or if
there are still photos remaining on this line.
8. MANAGE EXPOSURES
It might become necessary to stop taking pictures during a photo mission, due to clouds,
shadows, or other view limiting phenomena. For this reason the EXPOSURE STOP function
has been implemented into the CCNS4 system.
The EXPOSURE STOP function can be used for selecting individual photos of the current
flight line, or to start exposures of a specific line at a predetermined photo/WPT (only in
SHORT INFO).
The next photo(s) will not be taken, no trigger command will be given to the aerial camera or
any other sensor system(s). This can be useful, if clouds or any other phenomena disturbing
visibility should appear.
When on a flight line, enter the SHORT INFO page and press SEL/ENT once. The
EXPOSURE STOP is now activated. To deactivate press SEL/ENT again.
An active EXPO STOP will be displayed in the following way:
The EXPOSURE STOP function can be cancelled, and thus the exposing reinitiated, by
pressing the SEL/ENT knob again .
Photos that have not been taken during the EXPOSURE STOP function (at least one camera
must be connected) will be registered. A REM symbol will appear in the SELECT LINE page
of the SELECT MODE on each flight line where exposures remain to be taken. Next time the
flight is selected, the flight lines that contain remaining photos can be selected and the system
will only take the remaining photos, or a certain number in front of, or behind the desired
photo points, if entered appropriately on the SET SENSOR page (ch. 5.3, ADD EXP).
Guidance information will be given directly to the remaining photos.
The SELECTING WPT function can be used on a mission for dividing a long flight line or
block into several parts, what might become necessary due to adverse weather conditions or
management tasks.
Therefore, the CCNS4 system has to be set to the SHORT INFO page in the INFO MODE.
After pressing the red SEL/ENT knob, the box with the WPT number on the SHORT INFO
page will be marked with thick lines. The desired photo position can be selected by turning
the SEL/ENT knob and confirmed by pressing SEL/ENT. The moving photo (WPT) number
can be seen on the screen while turning the SEL/ENT knob.
The TO/FROM flag will display the next photo (WPT) in front of or behind the aircraft.
The TRIGGER STOP function can be used for selecting individual sensor bases of the current
flight line, or to start the sensor leg of a specific line at a predetermined BASE WPT (only in
SHORT INFO).
When on a flight line, enter the SHORT INFO page and press SEL/ENT once. The TRIGGER
STOP is now activated.
To deactivate press SEL/ENT again.
If the TRIGGER STOP function is cancelled, the sensor will started again on the next BASE
WPT. This is indicated throw a start triangle on the planned flight line.
Sensor base that have not been taken during the TRIGGER STOP function will be registered.
A REM symbol will appear in the SELECT LINE page of the SELECT MODE on each flight
line where sensor base remain to be taken. Next time the flight is selected, the flight lines that
contain remaining sensor bases can be selected and the system will only take the remaining
sensor bases, or a certain number in front of, or behind the desired BASE WPTs, if entered
appropriately on the SET SENSOR page. Guidance information will be given directly to the
remaining sensor bases.
The SELECTING WPT function can be used on a mission for dividing a long flight line or
block into several parts, what might become necessary due to adverse weather conditions or
management tasks.
Therefore, the CCNS4 system has to be set to the SHORT INFO page in the INFO MODE.
After pressing the red SEL/ENT knob, the box with the BASE WPT number on the SHORT
INFO page will be marked with thick lines. The desired start position of the sensor can be
selected by turning the SEL/ENT knob and confirmed by pressing SEL/ENT. The moving
start position of the next base can be seen on the screen while turning the SEL/ENT knob.
The TO/FROM flag will display if the next BASE WPT is in front of or behind the aircraft.
10.LOG FILES
The CCNS4 airborne computer is able to register data whenever a photo is taken or being
initiated. This data will be stored, when
• the feedback signal (at the instant of exposure) is given by the aerial camera, or
• if a camera simulator plug has been installed (available at IGI) at the moment when
the CCNS4 gives the fire command.
This plug has to be used, when a video system or scanner with no feed back signal is being
used, refer to the table "Functions of the Universal Camera Interface" in the Supplemental of
this manual.
Hint: The CCNS4 system is also useful for scanner flights and video missions. It will be
useful for positioning the aircraft on the planned track and for post flight
processing in the office, including position checks, by using the following
method:
Enter a fixed base in the Mission planning, being for e.g. 0.5 km or 1.0 km or a
corresponding value in nautical miles, enabling the system to record its position
every 0,5 or 1,0 km, or any other value depending on the previously set entry. The
CCNS4 system will simulate the firing of a camera at the preprogrammed
positions, including position recording.
Any file name consists of the current date (month and day) and the current identifier (both to
be set in SETUP MODE).
! Note: All log files are stored on the CCNS4 MISSION CARD in the folder
'MISSION.LOG'.
! Note: The CCNS4 system will log the release positions in the exposure file, in the case
that the feed back signal of the aerial sensor should fail. These positions are
marked by the exposure no. 09999 for CAM1 port or 19999 for CAM2 port.
! Note: All empty files from previous flights will be deleted on each CCNS4 power up.
10.1.EXPOSURE FILES
Generally, the CCNS4 airborne computer will look for all already existing exposure files of
that current day, when it is being switched ON. Should no file with that current date (and
therefore current identifier) be found, a new file is created. Should a file exist, the system
appends any new data to this file.
All exposure file data are stored on the CCNS4 mission card (PC-card) in the
‘MISSION.LOG’ subfolder and will have to be transferred to the office based computer, if
any additional computations, drawings (photo index) etc. are to be made.
The file name consists of the current date (month and day) and the current identifier (both to
be set in SETUP MODE / SET SYSTEM) with the extension 'XPS'

Also created by CCNS4 are some special log files depending on the connected hardware.
External Sensor Files are created for each CCNS4 CAM port. The file with the extension XS1
belongs to CAM1 port, XS2 to CAM2 port.
Depending on the connected sensor different identifier seperate the sensor information.
The files are used in the AEROoffice program for synchronize AEROcontrol data and create
information for Aerotriangulation programs.

12.5.DEFAULT
This paragraph contains a table that is supposed to be kept as a log for you to fill in your
specific SETUP of your CCNS4 system.
This will come in handy, when a new system setup is necessary after, for example, a Software
Update.
The column DEFAULT shows you the IGI standard presetting. The IGI engineer that initially
installed your CCNS4 system will have made some changes to this presetting whilst installing
your system, in order to suit your company's and peripheral equipment requirements.
You should note any changes that you make, so that you always have a list of settings that
will suit your needs.

until the desired line is located inside the frame and press <SEL/ENT>.
6. The navigation display will appear.
7. You will be airborne from this point on.
12.8.BASELENGTH VS MARKERDIST
The two diagrams depicted show the influence of the baselength versus marker distance
entered during mission planning with WinMP and the indication on Display Units during the
photo mission.
The first diagram depicts the case that the baselength (b) is longer than the marker distance
(m). The indication on the CCNS4 Display Units will be as illustrated on the bottom line,
since the marker (circle) has come up on the display and the next exposure will be made in the
distance entered during mission planning. The marker informs the pilot that the next photo is
about to be taken.
The second diagram below shows the case, that the baselength is shorter than the marker
distance. This will result in the seeming vanishing of marker points. They will no longer be
displayed. They are still there, but will not be displayed, because they would not inform the
pilot of the next photo, but actually the one after next.
! Note: It is therefore necessary to account for this effect during mission planning and to
differentiate between a circle, being a marker point (no photo) and the quadrangle
being a photo point (one photo), when airborne.
