the Econimic Expert Ole

Willers and I are taking a review of this decade. I hand over the speaking to ole.

If we are talking about music in the roaring 20s, we speacially talking about jazz music.Jazz music
exploded as popular entertainment in the 1920s and brought African-American culture to the white
middle class.
During the Roaring Twenties, music underwent drastic changes that represented the cultural
evolution that was occurring during that decade of the twenties. This fundamental period of
American music resulted in many important changes in song form, dance music, popular taste, and
production 3 These changes in the music business began largely with the new technologies that had
been invented, such as radio, phonographs, and significant advances in recording technology. The
new recording technology allowed for many variations in song and singing form and style: in 1925,
the older systems of recording were replaced with electric recording and microphones. This allowed
the recording engineers to control the sounds in a more profound way, such as amplifying some
sounds and quieting others. Also, the inventions of the radio and phonograph made music in general
much more accessible and available to the public at large. Even though African Americans were
leading the way in terms of skill and composition, not surprisingly, the most financially successful
bands of the 1920s were white people. f jazz quickly diverged into the two sub-categories of
“black” and “white” jazz. 1 However, many African Americans were able to reach across racial
boundaries and appeal to a broader fan base, Overall, this drastic change in musical style,
form, and consumption resulted a type of music that reflected the rebellion and
high energy of the Roaring Twenties.

Also our womens changend a lot. We have the new women, also called Flapper the Flapper signifies
the end of common stereotypes about women.  It ends the traditional roles that women have always filled.
It ends the era of women doing whatever their husband says.  The Flapper was a great step forward in
women's equality.  She now expressed herself how she wanted, through her new style of dress, and
through her new public behaviors.
Flappers no longer stuck to the corsets and long dresses of the women before them.  Now the Flappers
were wearing light shorter dresses that allowed them to participate in sports and other activities.  The
Flappers no longer waited for a man to come and propose a marriage.  Flappers went out and had a good
time.  They danced and flirted; they smoked and drank.  Flappers did represent the "New Women.  Overall
the 1920's were successful for the Women's Movement.  The women gained many new rights and much
needed equality.  Women made great strides in political and social aspects.  They gained the right to vote
and too work.  They were now able to dress how they wanted and do what they wanted.  The women of
the era were no longer dominated by the male world.  They now had a say of their own.
Also sport is an important point to talk about
Sports which grew and flourished in the nineteen twenties because of publicity and promotion
included baseball, tennis, golf, swimming, football and boxing. Newspapers, magazines, radio and
movies. all played a role in boosting the profile of sport and the sporting giants.  Media publicity
ensured large crowds and guaranteed the financial success of the ventures, allowing new
stadiums to be built and providing steadily increasing salaries for the sports stars. .

Also watching or listening to sport became more important than playing sports.

all in all, sport and culture have improved in the 1920s.
