Phase 1B is beginning statewide January 19

 The state has enlisted a range of additional providers to deliver the vaccine to the senior
population (65+) who are all eligible in Phase 1B
 These providers will include federally-qualified health centers, home health providers, hospitals,
physicians, and select pharmacies
 All those who are eligible and wish to be vaccinated in Phase 1B will need to contact these
providers to schedule a vaccine
 Phone numbers will be available to call these providers to schedule a vaccine

 If you have already pre-registered for Phase 1B at www.ccbh.net/vax you still need to contact
these providers UNLESS you want to wait for a slot to come up at a CCBH event when we get to
the Phase 1B group
 CCBH is not yet ready to begin Phase 1B as we are still working through Phase 1A
 It could be several weeks until we are ready for Phase 1B
 Vaccine supply is limited so please be patient with the process

Projected dates to start vaccinating Phase 1B populations:

January 19, 2021 – Ohioans 80 years of age and older
January 25, 2021 – Ohioans 75 years of age and older AND those with severe congenital or
developmental disorders
February 1, 2021 – Ohioans 70 years of age and older AND employees of K-12 schools that wish
to remain or return to in-person or hybrid models
February 8, 2021 – Ohioans 65 years of age and older
When a new age group begins, vaccinations may not be complete for the previous age group. It will take
a number of weeks to distribute all of the vaccine given the limited doses available.

Important reminders
The vaccine is not an antibiotic, so we remind people that it will not “cure” covid. Do not get the first
dose of vaccine if you are confirmed through testing to be positive for covid OR if you are sick with
covid-like symptoms.
You must be healthy when receiving the vaccine, just as it is with a flu shot.

Each vaccine requires two doses. The Pfizer type needs 21 days or more in between doses, the Moderna
is 28 days or more in between doses.

Typical side effects include mild arm pain at the point of injection, headache, fatigue or slight fever that
go away in 1-2 days.

Talk with a doctor first if you have a history of allergies to vaccines or other bad reactions from vaccines.

Continue to wear masks, wash hands and social distance after receiving the vaccine. We will need to do
this for several more months as everyone gets vaccinated.
