LIFE STYLE | PRIORITY ONE

And don’t for a minute let this Book of Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and
meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it.
Then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be
timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.”
Joshua 1:8-9 (The Message)

Priority One is the key directive of NXA Philippines – a nationwide endeavor to

get the young people of the Assemblies of God reading their Bible, praying, and
journaling every day.

Meditating and thinking about God’s word in each day of our lives supports our
growth, make us stronger and closer to God. Daily devotion should become a
habit and it should be included in the lifestyle of every NXA youth because we
believe in the effectiveness of the Word of God in teaching, rebuking, correcting
and training us in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). It enables us to know Christ,
serve Christ, and share Christ in our community and beyond.

THE WORD
God is the God Who desires to reveal Himself. He does not remain silent
and He speaks to us through His Word. The Bible is more than just a random
collection of stories, poems and letters, it is inspired by His Spirit for us to live
according to His standard and not in the standard that this world is giving to us.

 Be a DOER not just a LISTENER

In the book of James 1:22, it says that we should be a doer of the
Word, and not hearers only because when we do that we are
deceiving ourselves. Yes, it is good to spend time reading the Bible
but it is not enough, we should put into work and actions the truths
and commandments we read on it in order for us to experience His
power in our lives.

PRAYER
Acceptable prayer must be sincere (Heb. 10:22), offered with reverence
and godly fear, with a humble sense of own insignificance as creatures and of
our own unworthiness as sinners, with earnest importunity, and with
unhesitating submission to the divine will.
It must be offered in the faith that God is, and is the hearer and answerer
of prayer, and that he will fulfill his word, “Ask, and it will be given to you…”
(Matt. 7:7)

 Seek Him First

All of Jesus’ ministry became powerful and effective, in fact
impacted the whole world because of His incomparable connection
to the Father. He always spent more time in communing rather
than ministering. He is our model and we should be intimately
connected to the Father through Him with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit.

 Clean Heart
The very most requirement as we seek God, is a clean heart. We
should guard our heart (Prov. 4:23) as we walk in the journey of this
life. We should not allow any sins or tolerate any pleasurable
desires of our flesh to dwell in our hearts. We should allow the Holy
Spirit in sanctifying us progressively to become like Christ and be
His true disciple.

JOURNALING
It is a process of keeping all those messages/ revelation of God from our
meditation in form of writing in a personal journal or notebook.
