Guitar Junior High
Course #: MU 30 Grade Level: 79
Course Name: Intermediate Guitar Level of Difficulty: Beginning
Prerequisites: Must have access to a classical or acoustic guitar. # of Credits: 1 Sem. – ½ Credit
MU 30 is a continuation of MU 29. An entrance audition is required if MU 29 was not taken. Students will
study more advanced chords, rhythms, note reading and harmony techniques. Public performance is a
possibility. Placement is by teacher recommendation/audition.
The following Instrumental Music objectives are integrated throughout the entire course:
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC SKILLS
Strand 1: Create

Writing
S3C2 Expository Expository writing includes nonfiction writing that describes, explains, informs, or summarizes the ideas and
content. The writing supports a thesis based on research, observation and/or experience.
S2C3 Persuasive Persuasive writing is used for the purpose of influencing the reader. The author presents an issue and expresses
an opinion in order to convince an audience to agree with the opinion or to take a particular action.
MATH CONNECTION
