1. Clarify to the Portal in database.

Ans. Portal is a term, generally synonymous with gateway, for a World Wide Web site
that is or proposes to be a major starting site for users when they get connected to the
Web.

2. What is Grid control in database?

Ans. Grid Control is a system management software that delivers centralized


monitoring, administration, and life cycle management functionality for the complete
Oracle IT infrastructure, including systems running Oracle and non-Oracle
technologies.

3. State the FTP Clint


Ans. An FTP Client is a software designed to transfer files back-and-forth between a
computer and a server over the Internet. It needs to be installed on your computer
and can only be used with a live connection to the Internet.

4. What is PL/SQL?

Ans. PL/SQL stands for “Procedural Language extensions to the


Structured Query Language”. SQL is a popular language for both querying and
updating data in the relational database management systems (RDBMS). PL/SQL adds
many procedural constructs to SQL language to overcome some limitations of SQL.
5. Define the Transition in System Development Life Cycle of Oracle?
Ans.

• It conducts user acceptance testing

• It converts existing data

• It conducts parallel operations

• It makes modifications if required

6. What is the data integrity for accuracy and consistency in respect of Relational
database?

Ans. The term data integrity refers to the accuracy and consistency of data. When


creating databases, attention needs to be given to data integrity and how to maintain it.
A good database will enforce data integrity whenever possible. For example, a user
could accidentally try to enter a phone number into a date field.
