Health care workers are being called front-liners while working in a demanding

environment with limited support in the midst of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)

pandemic. Hospitals continue to have great difficulty supplying the health care workers with

personal protective equipment (PPE), which has become more essential than ever. In September

2020, 641 deaths among health care workers from COVD-19 and related complications have

been reported(CDC, 2020). This finding highlights just how crucial prevention of exposure to all

healthcare workers is, especially nurses who are expected to have high frequency of close

contact with patients. The safety of health care workers can be jeopardized from exposure by

pathogens, viruses, and diseases if no precautions are being taken while performing their duties.

This paper addresses workplace hazards among nurses, such as increased exposure to pathogens,

diseases and viruses as a result of the inadequate access to PPE. This paper also emphasizes the

importance of identifying these threats and suggests possible solutions to ensure everyone’s saf
