Before following the laboratory activity, the students must prepare :

1. Draw and explain about principall wall of gastrointestinal tract wall


2. Draw the schematic picture of the tongue & oropharynx microstructure and give
explanation
3. Draw the schematic picture of the teeth and periodontl tissue microstructure and
give explanation
4. Draw the schematic picture of the oesophagus microstructure and give
explanation
5. Draw the schematic picture of the stomach (cardia,fundus,body,pylorus)
microstructure and give explanation
6. Draw the schematic picture of the small intestine (duodenum, jejenum,ilium)
microstructure and give explanation
7. Draw the schematic picture of the large intestine (colon, appendyx) microstructure
and give explanation
8. Draw the schematic picture of the anorectal junction microstructure and give
explanation
9. Draw and explain the schematic picture of the liver lobule microstructure and liver
lobule zone
10. Draw and explain the schematic picture of the gall bladder microstructure
11. Draw and explain the schematic picture of the pancreas microstructure

- Content lab in manual book ( pre and post test will be taken from the manual, if scorring
pre test less than 50, can not allowed thelab activity )
- Bring your text book, reference book e.q atlas of Histology, e-book etc. ( minimal 1
group 1 atlas ).
- Bring colouring pencils for drawing

1. Students will be divided into groups
2. Discussion in 30 minute
3. Identify tissue section using light microscopy and draw it , in 90 minute

* Identify layers of ilium wall (mucous membrane : epithelial
surface,lamina propia :Lieberkhun glands, muscularis mucosae,
submucousa : Brunner gland, muscularis (inner,outer), serosa)

9. Colon
- Low magnification :
* Identify layers of colon wall (mucous membrane : epithelial
surface,lamina propia, muscularis mucosae, submucousa, muscularis

11. Anorectaal junction

epithelium, muscularis mucousae, plexus haemorrhoidaes, skeletal

Identify : central vein, portal triad (hepatic artery,portal vein,bile duct),

- Low magnification : Identify endocrine (Islet of Langerhans) & ecxorine part
