COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world as we know it, be it our social life or
professional life. How we live, move, meet, and greet each other isn’t what it used to
be. Coronavirus is the biggest game-changer in the twenty-first century. Countries all
around the world are struggling with their economy due to this pandemic. The impact
of social distancing is so huge that the economies of developed countries are on
their knees. The health care system of less developed countries has failed.

The traditional 9-5 job market has shrunken significantly in size resulting in Tens of
millions of jobs evaporating within weeks. Social distancing is being promoted all
over the world to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

So, the question arises how long will it take to get things back to normal? Or When
we will be able to start our normal lives again? Or will be able to resume our normal
lives anytime soon? There is a wide range of opinions regarding the current
situation.

Although the research and testing stage has been sped up, according to experts all
around the world it may take between twelve to eighteen months to develop a
vaccine. We are all optimistic about the situation but let’s face it, things will not be
returning to normal anytime soon. At least, not till the coronavirus is here.

Many companies have gone bankrupt all over the world. And those companies that
aren’t bankrupt, have either fired their employees due to shortage of capital or have
advised their employees to work from home.

Big tech companies like Google and Facebook have announced that they will adopt
remote work policy until the current pandemic situation is under control or things get
back to normal.

Before the companies were forced to adopt remotely working policy, Employers did
not believe in effectiveness of such a working model. But now enterprises are very
much satisfied with work-from-home policy as it incurs less expense. This might
become the new norm.

So what will happen now? What should we expect in the future? What about all the
jobs that are lost and how we can give people work again? The chances are slim for
those people who are waiting for the pandemic to come to an end. Due to this global
pandemic, more and more enterprises and companies are being shut down. Even
when everything gets back to normal, it’s a long road to stable job markets.
Companies would not like to hire full time employees and would prefer to outsource
work. There will be a shift towards the gig economy. Now, if you are not familiar with

There has already been a shift towards the gig economy and now it will be common
in the corporate world because businesses do not have enough funds to
accommodate a full-time employee. Freelance portals like Fiverr, Upwork,
Freelancer, and PeoplePerHour are all great sites to find skilled labour with a
budget. But finding a skilled person who fills all your requirements is the main
problem.

You have to scroll through hundreds of profiles to find perfect freelancer tailored to
your needs. And if you post a job on such platforms, the response rate can be
overwhelming and you might not be able to acquire the right talent, it can be difficult
to know if the person applying for the job has legitimate skills or not, and whether
you will be able to get desired results.

These sites are now crowded with millions of people with in-demand skill sets but
