Student Wellbeing Week

Name: Student wellbeing week

Year: November 2020

Maker: Rutger Engels

Sector: Health

Region: Rotterdam, The Netherlands

What?

The Wellbeing week is part of the program “Are you okay out there”. The first wellbeing
week took place from the first of November until the 6th. It consists of daily webinars with
live Q&A’s about mental resilience, a unique hybrid theatre performance and online
professional coaching sessions. The program started Monday evening with a national,
unique interactive theatre show called “Time out”. It is about the unpolished reflection of
the current reality for students. On every day a different webinar starts at 08:00 o’clock.
Including the topics mental resilience, stress, focus, following your own path and much
more. Don’t worry if you could not attend the webinars, it can be watched back online
later on. There were also various initiatives from students themselves spread over the
week about food and yoga. Students can be up to date on the app Uni-life with all the
events he wellbeing week collaborates with. Lastly, the professional online coaching
provided by Mentaal Beter. This was created for students that are in need and/or want
some help and guidance with their personal life. We can conclude that there was
something for everyone.

Why?

Erasmus University Rotterdam wanted to do something for the wellbeing of their students
since the university staff cares about their students. They are proud of the diversity of the
student population. The main goal of this week was to support and challenge students to
fully develop talents and personal growth. “We want to let you know that you are not
alone” Rector Rutger Engels said. They definitely want to do more wellbeing weeks in the
future because “wellbeing is not a one time thing it is important your entire life” Rector
Rutger Engels said.
