How to build trust within you

Bhakti teaches you something unusual - that is to trust the unknown.

How do you trust the unknown?

Every religion has painted God differently. Each one has tried to define God in its own way. The
attempt of religions was to make it easy for you to approach God.

The statues, the temples and the rituals - all these are devised to help you open yourself up
towards God.

Because God is not just unknown, the very phenomenon is unknowable. That means you can
never know God.

Still you can connect with God.

To connect with God, you’ll have to begin with trust towards God.

See, trusting someone you know is easy. Trusting someone unknown, difficult. But trusting
something unknowable? Needs profound courage.

That’s why we always talk of Ramakrishna, Meera and Kabir. Because they exhibited courage,
and went through the journey.

And what they received was also unimaginable for us. Most of us cannot take their journey. We
love them, but we cannot become one like them.

But still, there’s an inner energy that’s always pushing us to take this journey, even if it’s a
shorter one.

With God, that’s an advantage, if you want to know him a little, he’s available for you a little. If
you want Vishwaroopa, he’s ready for that too.

You can take a drop in, or you can take the whole ocean.

But, this all begins with the first step - that’s creating trust within you.

And this first step itself is what you’ll learn in The Magic of Devotion.

Because I believe DOUBT is your greatest enemy. It doesn’t let you go anywhere. Even if you
take a small step and find some joy in it, the doubt in you will soon kill it.
The peculiarity of trust is such that even if you even trust a stone, that quality of trust begins to
grow within.

When there’s trust, your thoughts subside, and meditation happens to you.

Not just that. This book teaches you Bhakti Marga in three steps:

1. Understanding devotion
2. Choosing your deity
3. Building your life around your deity

If you know these three things, you have understood a Great Yogic Path of life.

What you do with it is your freedom. But to know it itself is transformative.

Steps are carved for you in The Magic of Devotion. You just have to take courage.
