Demand of the Media Company is increasing rapidly through different mediums and with types
of entertainment which was never imagined before. Online Entertainment is a vast space where
multiple divisions offer various content. These will have many Financial Variables and to
predict and keep up with these changes Media company needs Digital Financial
Transformation. This Case Discusses approaches taken by PwC to solve this via employee
training and model building.

Learnings from the Case:

Brainstorming Technique: When the scope of the problem is wide across the organization.
You put all the stakeholder in a room to discuss various ideas. This was done in this
organization and produced more than 75 ideas for improving processes and elimination of non-
value adding activities.
Change Strategy: This was a Cultural Transformation throughout the organization. All the
entries are done manually, and it increases the processing time. People see these types of digital
transformation as threat to their current position rather than way of life. This will increase the
resistance in different Business Units. But The main board was rigid on this change and were
loud and clear to all the employees.
Change Strategy was defined by Gap Analysis, measurement of solution scope, and planning
elements.
BXT Formulation for Growth: Business, Experience and Technology amalgamation of these
will give a desired value directly to the client. To have rapid growth in the given Financial
structure rather to have an abrupt change and disrupting current process. PWC analyzed the
requirement of business, what are the needs of clients, what is the current experience level and
they aligned this with their peers to know the position of the company.
Balanced Scorecard: Financial activities are aligned with clients and KPIs to gain the insight
of the company. Financial Services are integrated with ERP software and results are shared via
usage of cloud platforms to different divisions. People, Performance and Process are the keys
for digital transformation. Finance is not a internal and closed process, It has become a
transparent and shared service via digital transformation.
Solution Evaluation: Implementing IT solutions also should come with perks. PwC has
monitored the organization for 1.5 Years and noted down some impacts to benchmark and
further strengthen the core business processes. This solution was also implemented to other
business units to improve their performances. Time consumed for process has been drastically
reduced to focus on the vision of the company.
This Case Study is Textbook for all the companies which still follows traditional financial
approaches and calculation in this fast-paced business world. Decisions are taken on financial
indicators and if these does not come at right time, place and requirement you will be replaced
by your competitor in short amount of time.
