Happy Hotel has planned to create a database to manage its customers and their data. You are required to create a system
using MS Access to store the required information. Save the database as HappyStudentName (e.g. HappySara).

Import the data from excel book namely “Happy Hotel Data” available in e-learning portal to create the following tables.
Ensure that filed types and sizes are realistic and correct. Ensure that data should appear in tables exactly like given

a) Identify the Primary Key & Foreign Key in each table. (2 Marks)

a) Save Room Details table as Room Status table and change the data of Room Status so that Booked is displayed in
Red color & Available in Green color. (1.5 Marks)
b) Save the Room Details table as Room Name table. Sort the table by Room Type in Descending order. Create the
lookup wizard for Room Type Field. (1.5 Marks)
c) Save Employee Details table as Employee -Final-1 table. Edit the record A28405 in change the name to Daniel Costa.

d) Save Employee Details table as Employee -Final-2 table. Insert new record in Employee –Final-2 table, as shown

e) Save Payment table as Payment -Final-1 table. Change the data type of Last day of Occupation field in Payment’s
table as medium date and ensure Default date of “First Day of Occupation” as today’s date. (2 Marks)
f) Save Payment table as Payment -Final-2 table. Add new field “No of Days” to Calculate how many days each
customer had stayed in hotel. (2 Marks)
g) In customer details table change phone number field to look like 30-16-52-07 (1 Mark)
h) In customer details table, create a new field “Customer Full name” to combine First name and second name. Please
leave appropriate space in between First name and second name. (1 Mark)
NOTE: Use only 4 Main Tables to create Query, Forms & Reports
b) Create a query showing – All Customers whose Last Name begins with the letter “W” and who occupies King bed. The
query should show Customer First Name, Last Name Employee Number and Room Type. Save query King Query.

c) Create a Payment Query. To Include Customer Full Name, Room Type, Last Day of Occupation & Tax Rate. Sort
query by Last Day of Occupation in Ascending Order. (1 Marks)
d) Create a query only for those rooms which are “Booked”. The query should show Room No, Room Type, Room
Status & Rate. Sort query by Bed Type in descending order. Save query as BookedRoomQuery. (3 Marks)
a) Create a Form with all fields of the Customer Details Table & save the form as Customer Entries. (2 Marks)
b) Make the Phone Number of Each customer in the form, Red & Check is it working? (1 Marks)
c) Insert a Picture (Form Bird Image) in the form in a way that all text is visible & picture should be stretched.

d) Add the buttons in the form footer with text Close Form & Add Record. (2 Marks)
e) Add required Navigation buttons in the form footer to navigate all the records (2 Marks)
f) Set the Customer Entries form to appear when you open a database. (1 Marks)
a) Fields to include – Customer Full Name, Employee First Name, Room Type & First Day of Occupation. Make sure
all fields are readable. (3 Marks)
e) Title – Customers Roomwise. Change Title back ground Color Light Green Color and text (Bold & Blue Color),
(2 Marks)
f) Insert your name in report footer –change font color to Orange, Bold, font Size 18 & Underline. (2 Marks)
