Sequence-dependent cleaning
-the type and duration of cleaning required between two tasks depends on the identity and relative
order of these two tasks.
Eg. Dye manufacturing plant (It will require cleaning if the light -colored dye is to be processed after the
dark dye but it isn’t true vice versa)
Frequency-dependent cleaning
-The need for cleaning of a particular unit of equipment is expressed in terms of the frequency of their
utilization.
Eg. A reactor may need to be cleaned after being used for at most m(m z 1) times, in order to avoid the
build-up of a certain impurity.
