My career at a glance:
After completing Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2002, I started my career with SANA News
Agency as sub-editor/reporter editing news stories and sometimes go out for city news and political events
coverage. Then I joined PPI News Agency in 2004 as senior sub-editor. I would also off and on supervise English
desk in the absence of Bureau Chief. Meanwhile, I started working with Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation
(PBC) at evening shift. There, I monitored Pashto and Urdu broadcasts for over three years. After PPI, I joined
Online News Network as Shift In-charge English Desk in 2006. During my thirteen months stay with this
Organization and simultaneously working with PBC (Radio Pakistan), I learnt much about media requirements.
These two organizations polished me in a better way enabling me to work in any kind of situation. My journey
with the Radio Pakistan and Online News Agency ended for a good as I started working National Herald Tribune
as Senior Sub-Editor/New Editor. Here I proved myself fit for any kind of role in three years. During my stay with
the National Herald Tribune, I got job offer at US Embassy Media Unit. I did this job with sincerity and integrity
until the winding up of the Media Unit of the US Embassy in December 2019.

US Embassy (August 2009 to December 2019): Worked with the US Embassy Media Unit for ten years. Duties
included scanning and editing news items, articles and editorials concerning terrorism, politics, local and regional
political scenario from Pakistani English Newspapers and uploading these news items, editorial/articles after
editing and counterchecking on a specific website of the US Embassy. Writing one-line opinion (compact
headline of100-character with spaces) of articles and editorials of the English Dailies. Also coordinated with team
members in emergency and led team in case of any breaking news.

National Herald Tribune (English Daily): Worked with the Daily National Herald Tribune (NHT) as Senior Sub-
Editor/News Editor from February 2007 to December 2010. Main responsibilities were supervision of the entire
Editorial Staff of the newspaper, distributing news stories among sub-editors, refining and fine tuning the work
done by sub-editors, giving the news stories fine and catchy headlines. Final checking of the stories of news
agencies and reporters enabling them to be published in NHT.

Online International News Network (April 2006 to May 2007): Worked with this Agency from April 2006 to May
2007, as shift In-charge (English Desk). Supervised sub-editors team. Editing news stories, scanned international
news items.

Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (June 2004-February 2007): Worked with Pakistan Broadcasting

Corporation (PBC) as Monitor in the main Monitoring Unit of the PBC, Islamabad. Translating Urdu/Pashto
broadcasts such as BBC, VOA, Radio Tehran, Radio Kabul, Radio Azadi and Radio Dewa into English with
special focus on Afghanistan and Pakistan's tribal areas (FATA).

PPI News Agency (September 2004 to March 2006): Worked with this organization as a Sub-Editor.
Scanning national and international news items. Translating Urdu news items into English. Editing news stories
and disseminating to newspapers. Preparing daily brief reports of news items scanned and translated in the
organization.
 
SANA news agency (October 2002 to August 2004): Worked with this organization as Sub-Editor/ Reporter
covering political, social issues and conducting exclusive interviews.

Associated Press of Pakistan (July-August 2002): Two-month internship with the Associated Press of
Pakistan (APP), Islamabad.
