Overview

According to the National Institute for Mental Health almost 7% of the U.S. adult
population will experience major depressive disorder within the course of the year
(http://www.nimh.nih.gov/statistics/1MDD_ADULT.shtml). This video presents data
about depression and suggests that depression rates are higher in certain types of jobs.
Also discussed are problems associated with depressed workers (e.g., well-being,
absenteeism, turnover) and ways to help depressed workers find meaning in their work
and enhance their well-being.

Although the video focuses specifically on depression, the video can be used as a
platform for discussing stress, job burnout, and emotional labor, and turnover.
