Problem identification:
The increasing demand for transportation fuels combined with decreasing mineral oil reserves
implies that the availability of petroleum is at the hands of a limited number of countries. This
raises issues related to the security of energy supply. In addition, combustion of transportation
fuels is one of the main sources of air pollution in urban areas. Therefore, solution to these
problems of fuel scarcity and exhaust lies in utilizing alternate fuel technologies.
Research Gap:
Though many bio-based fuels are identified and experimented successfully their implementation
is difficult in reality due to the yield, sources of biofuel and implementation. Therefore, this
research focuses on the biofuel production from cheap biosources and testing their blended fuel
efficiency.
Proposed method:
Objectives:
The main objective of proposed project is to
To synthesize copper oxide nanoparticles using Papaya (Carica papaya) leaves and
zinc oxide nanoparticles using the peels of pomegranate (Punicagranatum) fruit.
To prepare biodiesel from pig lard oil using CuO/ZnOnano catalyst.
To prepare bioethanol from waste potato biomass
To test the blended fuels prepared from bioethanol, biodiesel and pig tallow oil via
engine performance and emission characteristics
