SUMMARY OF CHANCELLOR'S REGULATION -175 Chancallor's regulation C-175 is available for review in your Principat’s office, Superintendent's office or in the Division of Human Resources Bureau of Information Services, 65 Court Street, Room 822, (718) 935-2264, Each schoo! maintains a copy of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual for Schools (SOPM). Individuals may review a copy of these pro- ‘cedures in order to familiarize themselves with the process by which per session employees are processed and paid. 1. All por session employees must complete an application for each per session activity (OP 17) prior to commencing service. 2. Individuals applying for a second per session activity must obtain an approved waiver pros to commencing service in the second activity (OP 1750), 3. Individuals who have been approved for waivers in prior yars mu the per session school year is from September 1 - August 31, ubmit new waiver applications each year. For this purpose, 4, Ingividuals who have received per session waivers for a second position, ate required to receive an additional waiver for exeeding, the limit on the maximum number of hours that can be served in a per session school year The maximum number ol hours ‘of par session work that may be perioimed annually by employees will be announced in periodic Personne! Per session employment, winether funded from the same or a different source, may not be used as a means of providing addtional ‘compensation for work similar to that which is performed in an individual's primary assignment 7. Incividuals cannot serve in a per session activity for which they are responsible for hiring, rating or coordinating or for which they are normally responsible to supervise 8. No per session compensation may be paid for work performed at home, 9. Employees on sabbalical leaves beginning August 1 must complete per session activities in vbich they are serving during July. ‘They will nol be permited to commence any new per session assignments untl ihe Seplember following the completion of the sabbatical 10, Each per session employee is requited to use a time clock to record the exact time of arrival and departure The timecard is to be maintained at the work ste and should serve as the basis of entries on the Personnel Time Report. It a tme clock is not available, @ dally aiendance report wih exact time of arrival and departure must be provided, maintained and approved by a supervisor In every case, regardless of the specific manner in which time is reported, supervisors are acountable for velying the record of attendance Approval by a co-worker is not acceptable. Falure to maintain satislactory time records wil result in the withholding oF compensation or recoupment of payment already made. 11. Each por session employee is requited to submit 2 ie sheet for service that was performed during the prior per session period within one schoo! day of the per session period immediately folowing such service 12, Time sheets submited for per session work which required a walver that was not previously approved wl result in the withholding of per session payment 18. tlateacher is enitled to retention rights in a per session activity but fais o claim those rights before, or at the tm a, application for a dflerent per session job in which the teacher has no retention rights, then the teacher may be denied employinent in the job for which there is entitlement fo retention NOTES: Requests ior waivers must be submitied sufficiently in advance to allow the Per Session Monitoring Unit ime for review and appropriate action. All requests for waivers willbe reviewed and acted upon within 10 schaol days trom the date oftheir submission, Pet session compensation vil be withheld for any individual who has not received prior approval rom the Division of Human Resources for a second per session activity or whose service exceeds the prescribed number of hours indicated in Chancellor's Regulation C:175 Pet session payment may be jeopardized (withholding of pay and / or recoupment) all requirements delineated in Chancellor's Regulation C-175 and in the Standard Operating Procedures Manual (DE 470 Payrol. Hourly Protessional Service) are not followed.
