Prayer of Confession Rev. George Haugen

Holy God, we thank you for the privilege of worshiping you this day. As we worship you, we recognize
our need for your grace and forgiveness. Lord, we have been wrapped up in our own wants and
desires. We have not put you first in our lives. We have sought after things that do not truly
satisfy. We have responded with selfishness to those in need. We have not trusted you, and therefore
we have not obeyed you. Have mercy on us dear Lord, and forgive us. Wash us clean, and fill us with
your Spirit, so that we will live as your people. (Please continue in silent confession) In the name of
Jesus we pray. Amen.

Leader: Scripture tells us that we are saved by faith in Jesus. Our forgiveness and salvation is the gift of God, not
the result of works, so that no one can boast.
People: In Christ we have been brought near, for He is our peace. In Him we are forgiven. Glory to
