Subject: Soft Reminder-Zakat Repository System

Dear Participants,

This is in continuation to our earlier communication sent via NMS on January 15, 2020 wherein
we apprised you that CDC is launching the Zakat Repository System with effect from January
20, 2020.

Within the same communique, you were informed that the timeframe to convert all physical forms
(generally known as Zakat Form and Solemn Affirmation Letter) for existing sub-accounts into
electronic form as agreed with Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony into electronic
form, is within 60 days i.e. by March 21, 2020. In this regard CDC also provided instructions
regarding upload of Zakat Forms (CZ-50) and Solemn Affirmation Letters of Sub-Account holders
who have opted for “Muslim Zakat Non-Deductible” and “Not Applicable” respectively statuses
as well.

In light of the above, we have noted that as yet a substantial number of Zakat Forms and Solemn
Affirmation Letters have not been uploaded for existing sub-accounts with status marked as
“Muslim Zakat Non-Deductible” or “Not Applicable.”

Therefore, you are being once again reminded and requested to arrange, compile and scan all
existing forms for sub-account(s) maintained under your umbrella, and to upload them in the
System by March 21, 2020 in order to avoid deduction of zakat on dividend entitled for securities
held by your Sub-Account holders.
