Abstract

This assignment is in reference to Domain D of the Teacher Performance Expectations (TPEs)

which deals with planning and designing learning experiences for all students. To demonstrate

my comprehension of this domain I chose 2 examples from my student teaching experience.

The first artifact I selected to demonstrate my comprehension of Domain D was my

lesson plan that dealt with climate. Domain D deals with planning instruction and designing

learning experiences for all the students. The lesson plan covers all of the key components that

we will review throughout the class. It contains the instructions strategies and the learning

activities that will be utilized throughout the day. This plan includes everything from the learning

goals of the lesson to the instructional strategies employed to the type of assessments included to

access student learning.

The second artifact I selected was my inclusion of a blank copy of a student self-

assessment I administered to my classes. This assessment was meant to get feedback to see what

the students responded to in my lesson plan. This was meant to allow me to make modifications,

or alternations, to my instructional strategies based on the students’ responses to four essential

questions dealing with the lesson. These artifacts both demonstrate me using the TPEs for

Domain D to better plan and design instruction to help students meet their learning goals for this

unit.
