Assessment Strategy MARCOM (MARK2306) 2019 - 20

 
The module will be assessed through a combination of a presentation & unseen exam. The
combination allows students to demonstrate the application of knowledge whilst helping to develop
their analytical skills.

50% (1) Presentation
50% (2) Unseen MCQ Exam
 
 
(1) Assignment 1 (50%) – Presentation + Creative Brief (1000 words)

A presentation will be prepared by teams of two members, in which each team is required to
devise an advertisement campaign using a mixture of traditional and digital media. The team will
also design an advertisement and supply a 1,000 word Creative Brief (which details their research
and workings on the campaign).

Time allotted: 8 - 10 minutes for Presentation & 5 minutes Q&A


 
External from industry will evaluate presentation along with module tutors.
 
Submission: March 2020 (Tentative). Date TBC on external’s availability
 
Presentation will be assessed on below mentioned criteria:
1. Creative brief should cover objectives for communication, information on
target customer, content and current brand awareness
2. Advertising design
3. Campaign strapline
4. Campaign design &  execution -  guidelines should be clearly defined
5. Presentation skills

(2) Unseen Exam (50%) 

An unseen 1 hour examination provides opportunity for students to bring together the knowledge
and skills addressed in the module.
