Stock Simulation project

Purpose of the project: My aim in this project is to give you a real-word experience of
trading securities. You will observe how the concepts we discuss in class can be applied
to financial decision-making. This project will help you make better choices in your
personal investments as well as preparing you for your future jobs. You will also learn
how to work productively in a group.

Details of the Project:

Trading:

-Investopedia assign each one of you $100,000.


-The trading start date is 10/20/2015 and trading end date is 23/12/2015
-By the date your trading ends your should traded stocks options, mutual funds(if
possible ), options ,buy long and sell short. You should trade and change the structure
of your portfolio during the semester to maximize your portfolio return.(realized profit
is more important than unrealized)
-You should make at least 3 trades per week Although in general you will make the
trading decisions, from time to time we will discuss your portfolios and give you some
hints to run your portfolios.

- Use some of the technical analysis we talked about in class.

Report:
You will submit and present a 2page (approx.) report on January 5,2016. Your report
should include the following sections:
Section 1) Your goal, risk tolerance How did your portfolio perform throughout the
semester and why?
Section 2) Why did you make each trade? In this section write one or two sentences on
your reasons for making each trade. You should include the content and source of the
information that you acted upon. Write this section as you make each trade throughout
the semester.
Section 3) What kind of investment strategies worked best and what would you do
different if you started the project all over again?

Bonus points:
The student that obtains the highest overall return on their portfolio will get 3(out of
100) bonus points on his final grade!
