1.

Is it necessary for every organization to shift to a stakeholder orientation, to attend to all

of its stakeholders and to accommodate them? In other words what does an organization risk if it
ignores or fails to act upon the claims and concerns of important stakeholders groups?

Not take into consideration the stakeholders groups opinions could lead to different risks for
the company. For example, the case of Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico during the
year 2010 when the BP had to work together with the ecological stakeholders.

The stakeholder groups act like a specialist in the field. If you ignore the specialist opinion
completely, you put yourself and company on a specific risk on that domain.

2.Is a stakeholder orientation necessary for organizations in every type of business sector?

It depends on the company profile, on the stakeholder profile, I would take into
consideration to analyze these aspects in the risk chapter of the business plan.

How can an organization develop and institutionalize a comprehensive stakeholder

orientation? And what sort of result will this deliver?

The decision to organize a communication department for stakeholders in any other

company will increase the maxim value of the company. In balancing the needs of the stakeholders,
the company needs to have five areas of responsibility: shareholders, costumers, employees,
suppliers and society.
