Thank you for taking the time to review this process and consider applying. The passionate and
dedicated turf users’ involvement in this process will contribute towards important decisions pertaining
to the use and care of the natural turf multipurpose fields at Fort Missoula Regional Park. Please review
the following information carefully. Consider what you can bring to this process. Confirm your ability to
attend all meetings and complete all homework assignments.

Role of the Turf Working Group

The TWG will be composed of 7 – 9 members, who represent the various user groups that access the
natural turf fields, as detailed under makeup. These members will participate in reviewing the Turf
Assessment completed by PRZ and the associated recommendations. The TWG will be tasked with
putting forward recommendations pertaining to the usage impact on field conditions and the
maintenance practices needed to achieve desired field conditions.

Time Commitment:

The TWG members should plan to meet at least 4 times for work sessions of 2-3 hours, plus shorter
follow up meetings or open house type formats over the next year. Ideally, the bulk of the work will
occur March through mid-June.

Makeup of TWG:

The TWG will be representative of the groups that most use the natural turf fields at FMRP.

 Three from youth soccer users

 Two from rugby users – youth and adult programs
 One from lacrosse users
 One – three at large

Criteria:

These members ought to demonstrate a:

 Strong desire for turf health

 Strong interest in providing equitable and inclusive recreational opportunities to our community
through FMRP
 Willingness to dedicate the necessary time to be successful
 Commitment to attend all meetings in their entirety
 Willingness to compromise and collaborate
 Knowledge of turf care

Individuals able to represent more than one sport, multiple demographics and interests, with a desire
for a win-win community solutions to challenging issues are strongly encouraged to apply.
